Dr. Yoshitaro “Yoshi” Oba is a licensed psychologist in the State of Georgia. After completing his undergraduate education at the Open University of Japan, Dr. Oba continued his education in the United States. He earned two master’s degree (General Psychology and Counseling Psychology) from Avila University and his Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from University of North Dakota. Dr. Oba has provided clinical services in various settings, including acute and long-term inpatient hospitals, community mental health clinics, schools, integration care clinics, and home-based treatment.


Dr. Oba utilizes behavior-oriented treatment modalities to treat children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of emotional and behavioral disorders. Specializing in treatment and evaluation of Austism Spectrum Disorder, he implements behavior assessments, with proficiency with the Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (ADOS), the gold-standard assessment tool for Autism Spectrum Disorder evaluations.  

​Dr. Oba provides services in English and Japanese, and he is passionate about helping individuals with cultural and language barriers. He is well-versed in the unique challenges immigrants face and the impact on their psychological well-being, identity, and development. Dr. Oba is dedicated to working with culturally diverse individuals, as well as all underserved populations.

Dr. Oba is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, and Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).
